Brett Myers dominated striking out 11 San Francisco batters at Citizen's Bank
Park where the Philadelphia Phillies beat the San Francisco Giants 2 to
0.

Myers(5-2) was virtually untouchable. He didn't allow much, just 4 hits and 2
walks in 8 innings seeing his ERA drop from 3.41 to 3.06. Philadelphia had 9
hits overall, while San Francisco had 4.

Billy Wagner recorded the save, his 13th. Brett Tomko(5-5) took the loss.
Myers was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my
pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got
into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again
in my next outing.'

In a dramatic ending at Citizen's Bank Park the Philadelphia Phillies won in
their last at-bat beating the San Francisco Giants by the count of 2 to
1.

Philadelphia won the game with a run in the 9th inning. Pat Burrell doubled.
Tomas Perez came to the plate and laid down a sacrifice bunt. David Bell
then laced a base-knock making Philadelphia the victors to the delight of the
home town faithful. Both teams finished the game with 4 hits.

Ugueth Urbina(4-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing
no runs. Scott Eyre(2-2) was given the loss in relief.

Jimmy Rollins had 2 base hits and 4 RBI at Turner Field as the Philadelphia
Phillies beat the Atlanta Braves in 13 innings by the count of 11 to 9.

The score was tied at 8 after nine. Philadelphia won the hard fought contest
in the 13th inning. After an out was recorded, Mike Lieberthal began the
Philadelphia spurt when he was hit by a pitch. One out later, David Bell
stepped up to the plate and he slapped a single. Tomas Perez then drew a
walk to load the bases. Rollins stepped in and he doubled plating three
runs. Philadelphia and Atlanta each finished the night with 15 hits.

The victory was credited to Ugueth Urbina(3-5) who went 2 innings, allowing 1
run. Kyle Davies(1-5) was charged with the loss in relief. He gave up 3 runs
and 2 hits in 1 inning.

Philadelphia now has a record of 29-21. With the loss, Atlanta has a record
of 6-4 lately, 26-21 overall.

Bobby Abreu slammed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Billy Wagner performed
beautifully in relief at Citizen's Bank Park as the Philadelphia Phillies
beat the St. Louis Cardinals by the count of 11 to 10.

Abreu enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in
the 3rd inning, lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 8th of
the season) in the 5th inning and lined a base-hit which scored a run in the
6th inning. St. Louis scored in 5 different innings, but their shaky
pitching kept them from victory.

Ryan Madson(5-0) allowed 2 runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory.
Wagner recorded the save, his 10th. Al Reyes(2-3) was the losing pitcher in
relief.

Chris Carpenter(4-3) was on top of his game in St. Louis as he tossed a beauty
of a no-hitter against the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers. The St. Louis Cardinals
won by a score of 2 to 0.

Carpenter was obviously at the top of his game as he set the Los Angeles(NL)
batters down like so many dominoes. He walked 3 Los Angeles(NL) batters.
The tension was mounting with every inning after the 6th. Carpenter appeared
oblivious himself to the mounting history until two were out in the 9th.
Only then, did he allow himself one deep sigh and a slow trip around the
mound. St. Louis managed 9 in their victory.

Jeff Weaver(1-4) was the losing pitcher. Carpenter was in a jubilant mood
after the game. 'If I'd known I was going to throw a no hitter I would have
gotten a haircut!' he said, much to the delight of the clubhouse gathering.

Paul Konerko smashed 3 homeruns and had 6 RBI at US Cellular Field where the
Chicago (AL) White Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 12 to

Konerko had a great evening at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every
move. He popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 1st inning, clubbed a
three-run home run in the 2nd inning and delivered a solo blast (his 11th of
the season) in the 7th inning. For the game Chicago (AL) out-hit Baltimore
18 to 9.

The victory went to Freddy Garcia(2-5) who went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs.
Rodrigo Lopez(3-4) was charged with the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his
1 and 2/3 innings.

The Chicago (AL) ballclub's record now stands at 19-16. Baltimore has a
record of 19-16 after the loss.

Mike Macdougal was great in relief and David Dejesus had 2 base hits and 2 RBI
as the Kansas City Royals defeated the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 4 to 3 at
Kauffman Stadium.

Tampa Bay was unable to claim the lead after Kansas City went ahead in the 7th
inning scoring one runner. Mark Teahen drew a walk. Teahen was safe on a
stolen base. Angel Berroa then delivered a base-hit scoring the run.
Macdougal earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 4th save.

Shawn Camp(1-0) allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Dewon Brazelton(1-1) suffered the loss. He allowed 4 runs and 3
hits in 6 innings.

First baseman Tony Clark ripped 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Coors Field as the

Clark provided much of the offense. He bombed a two-run dinger in the 1st
inning, stroked a base-hit in the 3rd inning and smashed a bases-empty
'big-fly' (his 10th of the season) in the 4th inning. Colorado had a chance
in the 9th but they came up short.

Mike Koplove(1-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Brian
Bruney was credited with his 3rd save. David Cortes(1-2) took the loss in
relief. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an earned run in his 1
