David Riske delivered 4 solid innings at Camden Yards as the Cleveland Indians
beat the Baltimore Orioles by the count of 4 to 2.

In the top of the 6th inning Cleveland went on top for good scoring a single
run on 2 hits. Bob Wickman was perfect in relief and got the save, his 20th.

Riske(3-5) went 4 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Sidney Ponson(2-4)
was given the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 9 hits in 5 innings.

Aaron Small(8-2) came through for Joe Torre with an excellent relief stint.

hits overall, while Detroit had 8.

In a two run game the Tampa Bay Devil Rays got by the Minnesota Twins in 11
innings by the score of 6 to 4.

Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings. Tampa Bay won it in
the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Josh Phelps began the rally when
he delivered a one-base hit. Eduardo Perez stepped up next and he stroked a
base-hit. Toby Hall then doubled scoring a run. Nick Green stepped in and
he hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the inning. Tampa Bay
totaled 11 on the afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Casey Fossum(4-6) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Fossum got help from Danys Baez who earned his 19th save. The
losing pitcher was Juan Rincon(4-2) in relief.

In a tight game it was the Oakland Athletics 4, the Chicago (AL) White Sox 2
at McAfee Coliseum.

Oakland went ahead for good in the 2nd inning plating an isolated run
utilizing 2 base hits. Oakland had 8 hits for the afternoon.

The victory was credited to Dan Haren(4-10) who went 7 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 1 run. Huston Street got the save, his 12th. Mark Buehrle(7-4) took
the loss.

David Dellucci slammed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Texas Rangers defeated
the Seattle Mariners by the score of 9 to 2 at SAFECO Field.

Dellucci was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He delivered a solo blast in the 4th
inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 10th of the
season) in the 7th inning. Overall Texas out-hit Seattle 13 to 6.

Juan Dominguez(5-4) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 3 innings. Ryan
Franklin(6-7) was charged with the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 5 and 2/3
innings of work.

Texas now has a record of a division leading 48-33. With the loss, the
Seattle ballclub's record is 42-38.

Hector Carrasco took a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Washington
Nationals topped the Chicago (NL) Cubs by a score of 5 to 0 at Wrigley
Field.

Carrasco(2-1) looked very much in control throughout the day. He allowed only
4 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings seeing his ERA drop from 2.44 to 2.11. The
right-handed Carrasco lost his chance for a no-hitter when Corey Patterson
singled with nobody out in the 6th inning. Washington ended up with 10 hits
for the game while Chicago (NL) had 4.

The loss was charged to Sergio Mitre(1-1). He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 7 hits and 4 walks in 4 innings.

Ken Griffey Jr went yard and had 2 RBI at Great American Bpk as the Cincinnati
Reds won a thriller over the Houston Astros in, 6 to 5.

Cincinnati scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Ray
Olmedo drew a walk. Edwin Encarnacion dug into the batters box next, but he
struck out. Felipe Lopez then slapped a one-base hit. Griffey Jr followed,
but he was set down on strikes. Ezequiel Astacio then had one get away for a
wild pitch giving Cincinnati the victory and sending the 41,755 home-town
fans home happy. Cincinnati had a total of 13 hits for the game.

The win was credited to Randy Keisler(3-2) who went 1/3 of an inning allowing
no runs. Astacio(2-4) was the loser in relief. For Cincinnati the victory
was a welcome one, indeed. They had been struggling in their last ten games
with a disappointing 2-8 record. Houston has a record of 39-42 after the
loss.

the 10th inning. Chris Snyder drew a walk. Jose Valverde stepped into the
batter's box and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Craig Counsell then doubled
scoring the run. Arizona finished with 14 hits in the victory.

The victory went to Valverde(5-2) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs. Yhency

Davis(4-10) was in control of the game from the outset. He was stingy on the
mound, allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk in 7 and 2/3 innings. Davis whiffed
an impressive total of 8 Pittsburgh batters. The left-handed Davis had his
no-hit bid broken up by Chris Duffy who singled with one out in the 6th
inning. Derrick Turnbow relieved and was untouched by Pittsburgh as he
recorded the save, his 23rd.

Ian Snell(1-1) was given the loss. He gave up 4 hits and 3 walks in 5

Burnett(7-2) dominated New York (NL) hitters. He gave up just 4 hits and 2
walks in 9 innings reducing his ERA from 3.74 to 3.49. Florida banged out 14
on the afternoon.

Jae Seo(3-4) ended up with the loss. Burnett was humble when questioned about
his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches this afternoon.
But, I had great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That
was an extremely well called game!'

Shealy doubled. Two outs later Jason Marquis came to the plate and threw a
pitch that the catcher muffed scoring the run. Colorado had 11 hits for the
game and St. Louis had 7.

The win was credited to Jamey Wright(4-10) who went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing
1 run. Marquis(5-9) took the loss. He pitched 5 innings and surrendered 7
hits and no walks.

excellent in relief and gained credit for his 12th save.

Noah Lowry(5-5) was the loser. He was knocked around by San Diego, allowing

12th inning. After an out was recorded, Rafael Furcal drew a walk. Marcus
Giles stepped up next and he doubled scoring the run. Philadelphia could do
no damage in the bottom of the 12th.

Kyle Farnsworth(5-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 1/3 innings
