Brett Myers(14-4) and Ryan Drese(5-7) treated the Philadelphia fans to a fine
pitching duel at Citizen's Bank Park. The Philadelphia Phillies eventually
emerged as victors over the Washington Nationals by the score of 3 to
0.

Myers was in control of the game from the outset. He allowed just 4 hits and
3 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. Myers mowed down 8 Washington batters.
Washington could do no damage in the 9th.

Myers got help from Billy Wagner who was credited with his 31st save. The
Philadelphia ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 79-43.
Washington can't seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a
miserable 2-8 record over the last couple weeks.
