In a lop-sided win the Washington Nationals were certainly pleased to stop the
bleeding as their 6 game losing streak was finally halted and ripped the
Philadelphia Phillies by a 8 to 2 count.

Preston Wilson had a good evening at the plate. He delivered a one-base hit
in the 4th inning, lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 16th of
the season) in the 5th inning and doubled bringing in a run in the 8th
inning. Washington out-hit Philadelphia for the game, 15 hits to 8.

John Patterson(10-6) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory.
Jon Lieber(11-8) was tagged with the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 5
innings of work.
